Local Mix Joins Forces with Edible Chesapeake
February 7, 2008
Greetings Local Eaters!

Did you know that Edible Chesapeake, the quarterly magazine dedicated to connecting consumers with growers and artisan food producers in our region, and Local Mix, the email newsletter with timely news and information that makes eating local more convenient for everyday families, are produced by the same people? That's right, Kristi Bahrenburg Janzen and Renee Brooks Catacalos have been bringing you Local Mix for nearly two years now. Renee has been publishing Edible Chesapeake for a year, with Kristi as contributing editor. It's time for these two great resources to come together!

Beginning next week, you will be receiving a monthly newsletter, Local Mix presented by Edible Chesapeake. Every second Thursday, you'll get an email full of brief items on timely topics, such as farmers market openings, CSA deadlines, what's coming into season at you-pick farms, who's delivering pastured meat where, and much more. If you have not previously received Local Mix, click here to see the most recent issue and feel free to browse back issues as well.

We'll also bring you snippets of content from Edible Chesapeake, links to the Edible Chesapeake and Real People Eat Local web sites (yes, we run both of those, too!), and links to news about what's happening at the national and global level affecting our local food consumption.

You'll always have the option to opt-out, but you should also feel free to forward the newsletter to anyone else you think would be interested in knowing more about where their food comes from and how to get the best local food for their family. Your feedback is always welcome. See you next Thursday!

Sincerely,

Renee and Kristi
